KU-2-8 ion exchange resin

KU-2-8 cationite is an organic substance, an ion-exchange resin. Various types of cationite are produced, in accordance with GOST or according to TU. Cationite is manufactured during the production of styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. It is a water-insoluble matrix of a high-molecular, multifunctional polymer containing acid sulfogroups capable of ion exchange. Applications • In water treatment to reduce water hardness for various purposes, to remove impurities from water. • For purification of wastewater and industrial water; for regeneration of electrolytes after galvanizing. • For water softening for power plants (thermal and nuclear), boiler houses. • In metallurgy for extraction and concentration of metals. • In the chemical industry for extraction of certain compounds from their solutions; for separation and purification of compounds; as a catalyst in organic syntheses. • In agriculture — for extraction of biologically active substances from raw materials.
