AV-17-8 anionite

Anionite AV-17-8 anionite is a high-molecular polymer substance, a monofunctional ion-exchange resin with macroporous and gel structure. It is produced in the form of granules about 1 mm in diameter, from light yellow to dark yellow in color. In terms of chemical composition, it is a polymer of divinylbenzene and styrene. In aqueous solutions and water, it can enter into anion exchange reactions. It contains one type of ionogenic groups - benzyltrimethylammonium. It is used for purification of wastewater and return water. Together with cationite, it is used for water purification from weakly dissociating acids (silicic, carbonic). This substance has found wide application in the chemical industry (for purification and separation of substances), food and pharmaceutical industries. In this field, it is used for deep water purification. In hydrometallurgy, it is used for water treatment, namely for desalination and water softening. By degree of dissociation, it is classified as weak electrolyte and strong electrolyte, which can exchange their ions in a wide pH range. Strongly basic is subdivided into anions of strong and weak acids. Weakly electrolytic ionites are capable of exchanging their ions within narrow pH limits. Cationites - in alkaline medium, anionites - in strongly acidic and only for anions of strong acids.
