Magnesite cupels Cupels are made from fused magnesite and, compared to cement or bone cupels, are characterized by a smooth surface, uniformity of properties - size and mass, high absorption capacity of oxides and collector without cracking, low losses of precious metals. Magnesite cupel No. 8A is designed for determining precious metals by the assay method during the cupellation operation and is used in laboratories for assay analysis of gold alloys and ingots. The cupel is made on the basis of high-purity (refined) periclase (fused magnesite).
