Semi-functional strongly acidic cation exchanger Sulfocoal is produced by sulfonating stone coals with oleum. Application Sulfocoal is a semi-functional strongly acidic cation exchanger containing sulfo groups as ionogenic groups capable of exchanging ions with electrolytes. Sulfocoal is used for water treatment – softening, reducing alkalinity and desalination of water used for boiler feed at power facilities (thermal power plants, state district power plants, industrial heating boiler houses), as well as source water for technological processes in various industries where regulatory documents or technological regulations do not establish the need to use drinking water. Sulfocoal is also used to extract cations from chemically contaminated wastewater, condensates and other industrial waters and solutions. Safety requirements Sulfocoal is fire hazardous, is a combustible substance difficult to ignite, in contact with atmospheric oxygen is capable of self-heating and spontaneous combustion, and is classified as a substance of the 4th hazard class in terms of effect on the body. Packaging Sulfocoal is packed in polyethylene bags. Packaging of the product in other containers that exclude contact of sulfocoal with air and ensure preservation of product quality during transportation and storage is allowed. Transportation, storage Sulfocoal packed in bags is transported by rail and road transport in covered vehicles. By rail, the packaged product is transported in wagonload shipments. Sulfocoal is stored in the manufacturer's packaging in closed warehouse premises in stacks. The stack dimensions must not exceed 10x2x2 m, and the passage between stacks must be 1 m wide. Shelf life of the product 1 year from the date of manufacture.
